The Aquariums were established in 1976 to promote an awareness, understanding, appreciation, and conservation of the diverse natural and cultural resources associated with North Carolina’s ocean, estuaries, rivers, streams, and other aquatic environments.

 

Roanoke Island:

Come and visit the 68,000-square foot facility located on the Outer Banks. The Aquarium features many exciting and unusual residents that will guide you through your exploration of the “Waters of the Outer Banks.”

The Aquarium has something for everyone, and features sharks, alligators, and river otters as well as programming that includes dive shows, live animal encounters and feeding programs.
